10 Creepy Feelings out of 10
I love this band and this cover can just creep you out. It is a mixture of dark images but the focus is a blackened tree growing through a book. Why it is doing that, I have no idea, maybe he should have brought it back inside, who knows. The back cover is the band amongst a creepy forest, I love it. See kids, this is what it is all about when you do covers. Are you listening GWAR?
10 Eerie Sites out of 10
This is a well laid out booklet. It has all of the typical stuff you find in any good fold out like lyrics, credits, thank yous etc. but they did it a little better than the typical band. This is the same as the cover, same freakish concept but with what looks to be a light graph over the artwork. Weird I know but it stands out. Surely by now GWAR have this CD.
10 Blackened Thoughts out of 10
THIS is the kind of CD that I was brought out of Metal Sludge's basement to review. The Filth loves black metal and this kids is black fucking metal at it’s best. The songs are structured so well, so well written, it sounds as menacing as it is. The singer, Vintersorg, has absolute control over both grinding black vox and the silkiest of clean vox, a true master of the art. I want to cry about something as that is what Sludge is best at but I cannot. Mainly I am sure this band would kill me if they found me I am sure but mostly I cannot turn you off of this because it would be a crime.
Comments: Borknagar is a black metal band that has been around awhile and it shows with their talent, damnit. If you Sludge fuckers have had any passing thought on possibly getting a black metal cd, this is what you want. Don’t be scared of it, Motley Crue won’t get mad if you try something good like this. Members of GWAR, did you read this wall the way through? This is how you are creative. Lord Satyr Filth has spoken.
