SEVENDUST "Seasons"
by Ozzy Stillbourne

Cover: 4 Still Rains out of 10.
Nothing more than a black and white photos of the band, their name, and the album title. These guys have never had any good or creative covers so this isn't that surprising. Very lacking in this department.

Booklet: 7 Marvelous 3's out of 10.
Everything is silver and black in case you were wondering. A decent size booklet with all the lyrics, pictures, and the typical shit.

Songs: 8 Coal Chambers out of 10.
Butch Walker produced this CD but it still sounds like Sevendust and there are no traces of Southgang anywhere to be found. There are some heavy elements like Sevendust's first CD and some more melodic elements as well. "Face To Face" and "Enemy" are good songs to listen to when you're headed out the door to kick somebody down a flight of stairs. Plenty of anger and hostile lyrics in both of those so I enjoy that. I guess if I was a real critic I could write something about them maturing as songwriters and growing as artists, but I don't give a fuck about any of that. All I know is that I like this CD better than their last 2 CDs they put out but not as good as their first CD. This is a good CD but missing that extra something that takes these guys to the next level. They're getting close though.

Comments: For some reason Sevendust is scared of us. They think we hate them and they flee if you mention our name, but we've never really said shit about Sevendust. There isn't much to goof on them about. Trust me, if there was, I would be saying it but there really isn't. Other than them being pussies and hiding from us, I don't have a problem with these guys. Maybe if they stepped up and did 20 Questions they'd have a platinum album by now instead of just Gold. I should also make note that this comes with a bonus DVD which includes the making of this CD. I like bonus shit so that's cool.
