MARILYN MANSON "The Golden Age Of The Grotesque"
by Ozzy Stillbourne

Cover: 5 Beautiful People out of 10.
A blurry photo of Marilyn's face with his name and album title. Not exactly memorable or exciting.

Booklet: 7 Twiggy's out of 10.
Has a variety of whacky photos of Marilyn's face, lyrics, and shit like that. Not bad, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Songs: 9 Shotgun Messiahs out of 10.
Fuck, this CD is a lot better than I was expecting. I've always liked some Marilyn Manson songs but not entire CDs, but this is the first CD I like all the way through. I can't find any faults with this disc at all. It's got good, angry songs that are great for fighting or running from the law. How can you not like a song called, "Use Your Fist, Not Your Mouth"? Another favorite is "(S)aint" which has the lyric, "I've got an F and a C and I got a K too, And the only thing that's missing is a bitch like you!" Perfect music to listen to when you're pissed at the old lady. "Vodevil" says, "This isn't music and we're not a band, we're 5 middle fingers on a motherfucking hand." Anger and profanity generally work for me and I back it. The single "mOBSCENE" has a chorus of young girls singing and that always adds a nice touch to things. All in all I think it's classic Manson even though I don't own all his CDs so I don't even know what I'm fucking talking about.

Comments: This is the first CD Marilyn has done with former Shotgun Messiah singer Tim Skold and without Twiggy Ramirez. It also comes with a DVD that's rather weird and fucked up and only worth watching once, but at least it's something. Probably one of the better CD purchases I've made this year.
