Butch, Butch, Butch. What's going on
here? The album cover looks like something Rick Springfield would have
put out in 1982. Nobody is going to see this in the store and want to
pick it up. This cover hurts me! It looks like something a TRL reject
boy band would put out. There were so many other great photos that Butch
took recently that would have been better. Even the cover of the advance
CD, with a little black girl holding Butch down with one foot would
have been better. A photo of our own Bastard Boy Floyd would have even
worked!

While the cover was disappointing, I
feel the booklet makes up for it. It includes all the lyrics, as well
as numerous photos that relate to this album. Including a picture of
a Butch Walker 8 track, matches with Alicia on it, a Nikki Sixx guitar
pick, a fake Rolling Stone article (which is actually his bio), a laminate,
a Rock Vocal Power cassette, and various things like that. It's cool.

If you liked the Marvelous 3, then you'll have
no problem enjoying this. It's not that much of a departure, and that's
a good thing. Following up "Hey Album" and "Ready, Sex,
Go" is no easy task, but Butch has come pretty close. This is one
of those CD that you can put in and listen to the entire way through.
The CD starts off with a spoof on the metal vocal tapes that were popular
in the 80s, but Butch's version has a more modern twist. "My Way"
is the first single and a total rock anthem. Lets see, what else do
you need to know? Oh, Nikki Sixx plays on "Into The Black."
My current favorite tracks include "My Way," "Sober,"
and "Get Down."
Comments: I
hope Arista puts some money behind this. I haven't heard the single
on radio at all but I did see one commercial for the CD at like 2 in
the morning. In the age of Creed, 3 Doors Down, Default, and the numerous
other boring bands, Butch is a breath of fresh air. Now if he could
just get a little bit of exposure or a real tour!
