BRAND NEW SIN "Brand New Sin"
by Jani Bon Neil

I rated the album on a scale of 1 to 10 "Your Mommas." If you don't know why, read our 20 Questions with Brand New Sin's Slider.

Cover: 4 "Your Mommas" out of 10.
The cover is a brownish red with a closeup of guitar strings. From the looks of it, this could be an acoustic CD. Doesn't really stand out much and it dosent' look like a lot of effort went into thinking about it.

Booklet: 6 "Your Mommas" out of 10.
A good enough booklet. Easy to read lyrics, pictures of each band member, and credits/thanks.

Songs: 6 "Your Mommas" out of 10.
A slightly above average metal/hard rock CD. The bio made this CD sound like it was going to be the next "Appetite For Destruction" so my expectations where overly high when I put this in. Of course, nothing can live up to a CD like that, and this was no exception. It's good, but it's not something that's going to make me want to play air guitar in front of a mirror. It might make somebody like Ozzy Stillbourne wanna to smoke a joint in front of the mirror, or use a mirror for other purposes, but not play air guitar. There are some cool riffs here and there, but towards the end of the CD it all starts to blend together. But hey, at least it's not Nu Metal!

Comments: If you like Black Label Society, COC, or Down, this might be down your alley.
