BOWLING FOR SOUP "Drunk Enough To Dance"
by Donna Anderson

Cover: 8 Girls All The Bad Guys Want out of 10.
It shows the 4 band members dressed in blue suits dancing. It has a 70s vibe to it.

Booklet: 7 Girls All The Bad Guys Want out of 10.
The guitar player's name is Van Malmsteen and Jani Bon Neil says he has to weigh about 350 pounds. I'm not good with guessing weight, so I asked him. He's a big, fat guy. The CD tray shows him with his shirt off jumping into a pool, so they're not trying to hide it, which you have to respect. If you're going to have a fat guy in the band, you might as well use him to your advantage. The booklet has lyrics, thanks, credits, and photos. It's about 6 pages and sufficient enough.

Songs: 8 Girls All The Bad Guys Want out of 10.
This is upbeat power pop rock that was produced by Butch Walker! Butch also co-wrote two songs on the CD, the single "Girl All The Bad Guys Want," and "Life After Lisa." Both songs have very Butch like lyrics and are probably my two favorite songs on the CD.
The video for "Girl All The Bad Guys Want" parodies Staind and Limp Bizkit and it's pretty clever. There are 16 songs total on the CD and most of the topics deal with relationships. The lyrics are well thought out and easy to understand. This is a fun CD and the antithesis to the "mad at your dad rock" that's all over radio. And I think that's a good thing.

Comments: These guys could easily tour with numerous bands, from Blink 182 and Sum 41 to Butch Walker, Lit, Injected, New Found Glory, SR-71, and even Poison! Their bio says, "I can hardly wait for the world tour," begins Van Malmsteen. "Our music crosses a lot of boundaries. We could sound like Cheap Trick or something from the ‘70s. Or we can walk into a country bar and have them loving us in five minutes. I swear, we could play a nursing home. You name the crowd, we’ve played for them," he concludes. "We’ll heckle the audience just as much as they’ll heckle us. But by the end of our show, they’re always on our side."
