WILD BOYZ "Unleashed" (1991)
by bastard boy floyd

I'm reviewing this on cassette!

Cover: 3 Unkowns out of 10.
It's just your typical 80s Rock City News band photo, and if you have any Rock City News from the 80s you know what I mean. Half the guys have hair covering one eye and you have your one guy with the Bret Michaels bandana with the hair going over it. One guy looks like Tom Keifer, one guy has a cap on, it's hilarious. It gets 3 points for being classic.

Booklet: 6 Who The Hell Are These Guys out of 10.
The booklet actually has 12 panels including the lyrics! I'm so glad they have the lyrics included so you can read such quality lyrics as:
Here it cumz in your face
Hold yo ass we gonna shake this place
Get down a boogie, woogie
We got the groove that u can taste
2nite we gonna do some rock an roll

An shoot the rhythm right through your soul
Cum on let's rock this place
Gonna stik it in your face

And that's how it's written in the booklet too! No wonder the scene died. Every song has similar lyrics so I could have picked any song. Next to the band members names they have shit like "Alabama Slammer" or "Groove Master." This is pretty much 80s rock cheese 101. You have to love how played out this is. It's almost worth finding just to read the lyrics!

Songs: 2 Why The Hell Did I Buy This out of 10.
With song titles such as "Pleasure 'n' Pain," "In Your Face," and "I Don't Wanna Cry No More," I don't think I have to tell you what this sounds like. It makes Pretty Boy Floyd sound like Queensryche. Plus they have a song called "Forever!" That's great because every sucky 80s band had a song called "Forever." Or at least something with Forever in the title. And since this is a cassette, side one is called "Dis side" and side two is "Dat side." How clever!!! These guys are the text book 80s hair band. They even have a 'Z' in their band name! I'm demanding a Wild Boyz reunion!

Comments: I'm ashamed I even have this. What was I thinking? In a way though, this is so cheesy it's almost cool, you know what I'm mean? It's like it sucks so much it's almost cool, but not quite. I think only about 8 people even have this cassette. When I have people over to my trailer I still hide this cassette so my repuation isn't totally ruined. It's hard to believe this is only 10 years old though. When this came out it was on Polaris Records. Now a days bands like this are on Perris Records, so the more things change, the more they stay the same.
