Lita Ford says hello with legendary photographer Glen LaFerman
HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE RAINBOW BAR & GRILL

HOLLYWOOD -- The stars were out for New Year’s Eve at the world-famous rock hangout Rainbow Bar & Grill on the Sunset Strip, and Metal Sludge was there to document the whole thing, from the early Long Island Ice teas to hootin’ and hollerin’ at midnight to the desperate longing for company in the parking lot after last call.
The grand princess of rock, Lita Ford, made a rare appearance, and though the ex-Runaway put a bit of a downer on the celebration by being aloof with fans wanting autographs or pictures together, at least she was there.
Ford did not hang out all the way until midnight, and that’s probably because she was worried someone might “kiss her deadly.”

Meanwhile, ex-Quiet Riot star guitarist Carlos Cavazo was hanging out nearby, and if you looked closely it’s clear Cavazo has better hair than Ford – very impressive. At Cavazo’s table was his hot blonde girlfriend, his father and his girlfriend’s mother, along with Alan Krigger, the scene-making former drummer for Giuffria and Tina Turner.
Another top guitarist making the rounds was Mitch Perry, who happens to play in Lita Ford’s band after stints with MSG, Edgar Winter, Cher, Asia and others. Perry was in a great mood, as usual, and he even said he’d love to do a Sludge interview (who wouldn’t?).

There was also the usual assortment of Rainbow regulars like Happenin’ Harry, always a popular figure on the Strip, and the usual groupie girls and coke fiends making little trips to the restroom.
In all, a great night at the Rainbow and a fun way to welcome in a New Year. Cheers!
