GREAT WHITE’S JACK RUSSELL CELEBRATES 52nd BIRTHDAY WITH PARTY AT RAINBOW BAR & GRILL

HOLLYWOOD -- Having endured drug addiction, serious illnesses, lawsuits and a series of tragedies in addition to all the platinum records and radio hits, perhaps Great White singer Jack Russell celebrates birthdays a bit more fortuitously than your average rock star.
That’s why Russell’s 52nd birthday bash Wednesday, Dec. 5 at the famed Rainbow Bar & Grill proved such a big event.
Russell is clean and sober now, and another year of life is a always a blessing, as rock luminaries Don Dokken, Marq Torien (BulletBoys), Robert Sarzo (Hurricane), Kristy Majors (Pretty Boy Floyd), Alan Krigger (Giuffria), Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper, Beautiful Creatures) and others all chimed in with a platinum version of “Happy Birthday.”

Metal Sludge was there, and it was the first time we remember Russell not making constant little trips to the Rainbow restroom. "Every day is a gift at this point. It was great fun," Russell said.
The truth is, Russell has forged an incredible comeback after everyone figured he had endured his last 10-count and was going to go away forever -- either quietly or tragically. Instead, after breaking away from the original Great White (now fronted by singer Terry Illous), Russell has flourished with his own version – officially, Jack Russell’s Great White – and he continues to tour successfully including a long run of concerts this past summer.
Some of Russell’s sober friends were there, too, and it was fun evening considering the focus was on Martinelli’s and cake as opposed to mammaries and coke.

Majors was hangin’ with a super-hot chick who must be a fashion model or something like that, Torien was munching on pizza and greeting a constant stream of visitors, Krigger was his usual happy-go-lucky self, and Dokken was the total rock star by pulling up in his fancy BMW 740i with his favorite companion, a big fluffy white dog that found the attention of all the pretty ladies in the Rainbow parking lot at the end of the night.
Jack was in great spirits all night and added, "I was happy to be surrounded by friends and loved ones including some friends all the way from highh school. Just a great time, a lot of really cool people. It was nice to see Don Dokken. We've been friends for many years."
