Crashdiet’s original singer and leader Dave Lepard took his own life in January 2006 at the age of 25. This happened just as the band was on the rise with a worldwide deal on Universal Records.

Rest in Sleaze was released in May 2005 and peaked at #12 on the Swedish Album chart. The debut was fueled by 4 singles and heavy promotions in their native country including a cell phone commercial. It was just 8 months after the the release that Lepard hung himself in his apartment after a bout with depression.

The band eventually decided to carry on with a new frontman.

On January 22, 2007 the band announced the addition of a new vocalist, H. Olliver Twisted from Finland. The Finnish singer was born Olli Herman Kosunen.

Before joining Crashdiet Olli was a member of the group Reckless Love.  His stint in Crashdiet only lasted 18 months and Olli left the band to return to his roots and re-launch his career with Reckless Love.
