L.A. Guns gets their plug pulled mid-song at ’80s in the Park’ festival

Florida — This past weekend was the annual “80’s In The Park” music festival in Melbourne Florida. The 3 day event hosted over 2 dozen bands including Brian Howe of Bad Company, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, L.A. Guns, Don Dokken, John Waite, Bow Wow Wow, Bang Tango and Lillian Axe among others.

The weather did not fully cooperate and it was a bit of a rainy weekend. The on-and-off showers created some delays throughout the daily schedules but that didn’t stop thousands of fans from attending.

Several die-hard fans descended into Florida from the Carolina’s, Georgia, Louisiana and Alabama. But those were just the neighbors driving a few hours south into the sunshine state. There were also fans who attended from as far away as Colorado, New Jersey, Missouri, Ohio and Illinois.

Friday night featured a triple attack of Hollywood based 80’s rock hairband’s including Jack’s Great White, Faster Pussycat and Tuff. Enuff Z’nuff was there to represent the windy city of Chicago.

Saturday was an early start and the rain was just a light drizzle but the heavy showers from earlier in the week proved to be a bit of a hindrance when it came to the overall ‘mud’ factor. All the bands got up and made the best of a slippery situation and got through their set  –  except for L.A. Guns. The Los Angeles based band was mid-song when the lights were turned off, which was soon followed by power too. There are some good and bad points to going on last. By the time L.A. Guns had hit the stage many fans had been on their feet, in the mid since noon. Regardless of only 30 minutes, the band kicked ass for the fans who stayed late.

The band was actually in the middle of one of their biggest hits “The Ballad of Jayne” when the 11:oopm curfew hit and the event organizers pulled the plug.

Watch the video below. Lights go out at 2:37 mark and power goes at 3:30 mark.
