Juan Croucier comments on the state of Ratt and says “We are not broken up!”

Facebook —  In recent facebook posts Juan Croucier the rodent bassist has commented on the status of the band Ratt.

Croucier claims the band has not broke up and explains to fans, “Things are on hold at the moment.” See screen caps below.

However according to the Ratt wikipedia Stephen Pearcy is once again listed as a former member.

Ratt has had its ups and downs over their career. It appeared they were as close to being at full strength as possible in recent years with 4 of the 5 classic line-up in tact. After a 6 year layoff (2000-2006) the original voice Stephen Pearcy returned. Then after many rumored returns, it finally came to be when original bassist Juan Croucier came back in 2012. The band has since played to huge crowds in Japan, Brazil and select festivals in the US opening for the likes of Van Halen.

Both Pearcy and Croucier had previously spent extensive time off from the band. Juan from 1996-2012 while Robbie Crane filled the void. It was 4 years later in 2000 when Pearcy left.

The band’s much coveted vocal position was up for grabs.

The group did a cattle call to fill the frontman position which saw a laundry list of name singers audition. That list included Mike Tramp (White Lion), Robert Mason (Ex. Lynch Mob, current Warrant), Ralph Saenz (pka Michael Starr of Steel Panther), Stevie Rachelle (Tuff) and Steve “Sex” Summers.  The position was eventually filled by Jizzy Pearl (Ex. L.A. Guns, Love/Hate and current Quiet Riot).

The band’s original choice was Robert Mason who did a showcase for Ratt’s then label Portrait Records. But, rumor on the street was the label didn’t like Mason, and the band grabbed second option Pearl. Now ironically Ratt is once again without a singer, while both of their original choices currently have employment in hairband neighbors Warrant and Quiet Riot.

Who might fill the spot next? Will Ratt reunite with Pearcy or is Ratt exterminated once and for all?

Stay tuned for more developments as we hear more from the Ratt camp.
