X-SouthGang singer Jesse Harte debuts Bloody Red Hearts!
BLOODY RED HEARTS press release March 2012:
Lead vocalist Jesse Harte, formerly of early 90’s pop metal band SOUTHGANG, has aligned forces with hard rock guitarist Tommy Redd from metal masters IRON STEEL. Together they are infusing a rock-metal heartbeat hailed as the band BLOODY RED HEARTS. A self titled EP is available now at CDBaby.com, ITunes, Rhapsody and more.
Jesse quoted “This is an act influenced by bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, AC/DC, as well the best of the early 80s metal scene in LA. It’s the blood that fueled it all! We hope you dig it as much as we like playing it!”

There is a virus that once in the blood stream of a music artist can sit dormant, but only for short lengths of time. Music changes, bands change, members change and fly around. Eventually they land somewhere at the same place and same time with their bags full of angst for an out of remission rage of guilty pleasure. BLOODY RED HEARTS is a rock metal band who has caught and is spreading this contagious ailment with loud guitars, ear splitting vocals, and lyrical mind food served raw.
These worldwide Atlanta GA. natives have seen and done a lot. Bloody Red Hearts vocalist Jesse Harte started his career on the hip of Butch Walker as the lead singer for the pop-metal band SOUTHGANG. After conquering the thriving Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, the band went on to record two albums for Charisma/Virgin Records and tour nationally and internationally. SouthGang’s album releases, although late on the heels of the LA Metal Scene, have been hailed as some of the best of the day.
Bloody Red Hearts guitarist Tommy Redd is the metal master of the insane riffing and soloing that drove home the technical delivery for cult heavy metal band IRON STEEL. Members Dave Ellefson/Megadeath, Morgan Rose/Sevendust, notorious rock photographer Fran Strine and Tommy Redd conceived this band as a chance to be the fastest and funniest thrasher band that ever laid music to tape. They succeeded with their sound and humor, carrying the project with comical interludes from many famous rock artists, in a tongue and cheek manor, hailing them “the greatest heavy metal band of all time!”
In a serious new tone in 2011, a meeting of the minds took place in Atlanta GA. between Jesse Harte, Tommy Redd, and two local noise makers, Jeff Caldwell/bassist and Jeff Hines/percussionist, both known for their chops and solid “rhythm section infection”. Jesse quoted, “On the first night we knew it was love at first feel, as the great Bon Scott would say!” Bloody Red Hearts was born. The writing began and emerged as a sound excited by past doctrines and cutting edge experiments to capture a “bloody new way” of looking at this rock metal sound matrix with soulful sensibility.
On the first track of Bloody Red Heartsdebut EP being released March 15, 2012 the lyric says, “Blood without water is thick and dead, let the rain come down and clear your head, truths strong.” Well it is raining hard in Atlanta GA! So check out and enjoy a fix brought forward from the past to the contemporary edge for music fans everywhere seeking the drug Rock Metal with BLOODY RED HEARTS.
