WILLIAM SHATNER’S SEEKING MAJOR TOM ALBUM WITH MUSIC

INDUSTRY HEAVIES TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 11, 2011!

William Shatner’s new album “Seeing Major Tom” in his unique-spoken word style will be released by Cleopatra Records on October 11th, 2011.

LOS ANGELES, CA  — William Shatner’s new album “Seeking Major Tom” in his unique-spoken word style will be released by Cleopatra Records and distributed by E1 Entertainment on October 11th, 2011. William Shatner is more successful than ever. Since William Shatner released "The Transformed Man" in 1968, he has had a prolific career as a musician. Now he returns to his first love, space, with his new album, "Seeking Major Tom" which is due for release by Cleopatra Records October 11, 2011. The album features space-themed rock songs like "She Blinded Me With Science," "Learn to Fly," and "Iron Man" with collaborator Zakk Wylde and such guests as Peter Frampton, Bootsy Collins, Yes’ Steve Howe, Deep Purple’s Richie Blackmore, Lyle Lovett, Brad Paisley, Steve Miller, Sheryl Crow, Johnny Winter and a host of other incredible artists.

“Believe it or not I was a Trekkie and still have my original series t-shirt. So having the chance to record on William’s album was a big thrill”, says Johnny Winter. And from collaborator Bootsy Collins: “For me, Captain Kirk was like the John Wayne of space travel. William Shatner was the closest thing to cool as one could get!” William Shatner is an incredibly busy man…in addition to the release of his album, Seeking Major Tom, he also releases his new book, SHATNER RULES: Your Guide to Understanding the Shatnerverse and the World at Large (Dutton; $21.95; October 4, 2011), a witty look at the talent that is William Shatner and the secret to his ever evolving four decade-long career. Filled with Rules, “Fun Factners,” and even the occasional “William Flashbackner,” SHATNER RULES is a mix of hilarity and keen insight into Shatner’s accomplishments and life lessons he has picked up along the way.
