Poison’s Bret Michaels "I could have died!"

Bret says: "I could have died!"

Bret Michaels is currently recovering from emergency surgery at a diabetic private care facility.Michaels was scheduled to perform on Sunday night in San Antonio, TX, but after experiencing very serious stomach pains all day, he was urged by the doctors at Sea World to go to the hospital. He was rushed to an undisclosed medical private care facility which specializes in the rehabilitation of diabetics. It was discovered by doctors at the medical facility that he was suffering from acute appendicitis, and he was rushed into surgery at 1am.

The surgery went very well, according to the doctors, and they are very optimistic that Michaels will make a complete recovery. Since he was absolutely exhausted from his touring schedule, which is very rigorous, and also had diabetes, the surgery took quite a toll on him. This type of surgery is said to be very hard on people who do not have diabetes, and the recovery can take quite a good bit of time. Brett Michaels was considered to be in otherwise very good health for a 47 year old with diabetes. The main order of business right now is being sure he gets proper rest, and is able to keep his blood sugar levels in a good place while recovering.

Quoted from his website is the following “Thank you all for your well wishes. And, as always, thanks for your support! For those of you who have inquired about sending get well cards, flowers or gifts we ask that you instead call your local radio and request Bret’s current single “Nothing to Lose.”
