BRET MICHAELS’ STOLEN GUITAR RECOVERED!
Last weekend, we reported that one of Bret Michael’s favorite guitars was stolen right from the stage at a show in Valparaiso, Indiana on Friday, November 12th. Well, it looks like that very guitar has been recovered, thanks to the help of a prominent rock radio station in Chicago! Here’s the announcement that we just received this very afternoon:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 19, 2004
97.9 THE LOOP ? WLUP-FM, CHICAGO
THE POWER OF THE LOOP CALLS OUT A THIEF
THE LOOP FORCES AN ANONYMOUS DELIVERY OF BRET MICHAELS? MISSING GUITAR
During Bret Michaels? performance on Friday, November 12th 2004 at McCool?s Bar near Valparaiso, Indiana; one of Bret?s favorite guitars was stolen right from the stage. The following week, the Morning Loop Guys (The Loop?s morning drive radio show) announced the incident and passed along Bret?s personal plead to have it returned.
On Thursday evening, November 18th 2004, The Loop was scheduled to host a promotional event at Hog Head McDunna?s in Chicago?s Lincoln Park area. Before the event began, an anonymous person delivered a guitar matching the description of Bret Michaels? missing guitar to the bar manager. The anonymous delivery was accompanied by a note addressed to The Loop stating, ?Return to owner by 11/21?. The guitar was brought back to The Loop?s studios for the night.
Friday morning, November 19th 2004 The Loop contacted Bret?s management stating that it?s believed that the guitar has been recovered. The description was given to Bret?s tour manager and confirmed that in fact it is the guitar that was stolen from the McCool?s Bar performance. The guitar will be routed back to Bret and join him for the remainder of the tour. This particular guitar holds ?sentimental value to Bret dating back to 1989?, said Bret?s tour manager.
The Loop was honored to take part in the investigations that lead to the recovery of Bret Michaels? guitar.
Well, we’re all about watching dramas like this unfold, but it’s rare that we see them end on a happy note like this. Now Poison fans around the world can rest easy tonight knowing that one of Bret Michaels’ cherished instruments will soon be back in his posession.
Who took the instrument in the first place? The world may never know, but C.C. DeVille wasn’t spotted anywhere in Indiana last weekend, so he’s definitely off the list of suspects.
Congratulations to Bret and his guitar on their forthcoming happy reunion, and to The Loop 97.9 in Chicago for making it happen!!
